What does an EGR valve actually do?
🚗

It takes a small amount of exhaust gas and sends it back into the intake.
Why?
To lower combustion temperatures and reduce harmful NOx emissions.
How it works:
- ECU commands the valve to open
- Actuator moves the pintle
- Controlled exhaust gas flows into the intake
- Mixes with fresh air before entering the cylinders
When healthy → cleaner emissions + smoother operation
When clogged or failed → rough idle, power loss, or Check Engine Light
A small valve with a big job in modern engines.
