Unlike hydraulic steering, Electric Power Steering (EPS) uses an electric motor to provide steering assistance.
🔧 How it works:
Steering Wheel → Torque Sensor → EPS ECU → Assist Motor → Steering Gear → Wheels
• Torque Sensor detects how much steering effort you apply
• EPS ECU calculates the required assistance
• Electric Motor adds steering assist
• Steering Gear transfers the movement to the wheels
• Vehicle Speed & Steering Angle can also influence assist level
⚡ More assistance at low speeds can make parking easier, while assistance may reduce at higher speeds for steering feel.
No hydraulic pump or steering fluid required.
