Car Drivetrains – ICE, Fuel Cell & Electric

Your car’s drivetrain delivers power from the engine or motor to the wheels. Here are the 3 main types based on how that power is generated:
🚗 1. ICE (Internal Combustion Engine)
• Fuel: Gasoline or diesel
• How it works: Burns fuel, powers wheels via transmission
• Pros: Low upfront cost, wide availability
• Cons: High emissions, maintenance-heavy
🚙 2. FCEV (Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle)
• Fuel: Hydrogen
• How it works: Fuel cell creates electricity to run an electric motor
• Pros: Only emits water, fast refueling, long range
• Cons: Few hydrogen stations, expensive tech
⚡ 3. BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle)
• Fuel: Electric battery
• How it works: Powers electric motor directly
• Pros: Zero emissions, low running cost
• Cons: Charging time, range varies by battery
